WE NEED YOUR HELP TO HELP OTHERS

WE NEED YOUR HELP TO HELP OTHERS. Our food distribution project is working very well with many new families and individuals being referred for help; to the point we need to appeal for more donations to share.
People can either drop these in the donation boxes at Sainsbury A10 or Lancaster Road branches or deliver direct to the Centre. If you cannot deliver contact us and we will try and collect. We have some large families on our list as well as single women and those sheltering.
People can donate to the fund for this by Via JustGiving on Facebook – by clicking on http://www.justgiving.com/enfieldwomenscentre
When buying things in packs – rice, pasta, etc. please buy in packs no more than 2kg – it is easier to distribute to families than large bags of pasta, rice etc. Whilst we can deliver to families the large sacks are difficult. We can share the same weight in goods amongst families – we make sure all families receive goods weekly. Some people still insist on coming to the Centre personally so smaller packs are also easier for them to carry. Our clients consist of families with children and also older folk or single people who are all vulnerable/isolated for a range of reasons.

Help us to give families a better Christmas

We have been supporting women and families for over 25 few years. This is done via counselling, training, advice, information, food and clothing distribution, social activities, outings, etc. Since COVID the numbers have increased with more and more families being referred to us via social services, schools, health and other professionals.

We are trying to raise funds to enable us to give them all a little extra this Christmas time. We plan to deliver hampers and would like to include a variety of treats for all the families including Christmas Crackers, stocking fillers, yummies and a food voucher for each family to go towards a turkey or other main course item.

Families differ in size with some having up to with eight children including some with differing abilities. We also plan to include small toys, activities, etc. We cannot do this without your help.

Enfield Women’s Centre is a charity providing women and girls and their families a safe place where they can be listened to and services to help them overcome challenges so they can take their rightful place in our community. We offer: Counselling, Training courses (Confidence, Assertion, Anger, Stress Management). Weekly; street dance, walks, coffee mornings, talks, etc. We offer support/advice on a range of issues and referral to other services. Social activities include cinema group, outings (theatre, seaside, other) socials, etc. We work in partnership with the statutory sector through various fora including Domestic Violence, Public Health, Early Intervention Network, Enfield LGBT network, Homelessness Forum, etc.
